Privacy Policy — Army Digital Leader's Book

Army Digital Leader's Book ("the app") is an independent tool for military leaders to track unit readiness. This policy explains what the app does with information. The short version: nothing leaves your device.

Information the app collects

None.

The app has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting, and no server of any kind. The Android version does not request the INTERNET permission, which means it is technically incapable of transmitting data.

Information you enter

You may enter information about soldiers you supervise — names, rank, DoD ID, employee ID, unit, contact details, next of kin, and readiness records such as qualification and training dates.

All of this is stored only in the app's private storage on your device. It is not uploaded, synchronised, backed up to our servers, or shared with the developer or any third party. The developer cannot see it and has no ability to retrieve it.

On Android, the app's data is excluded from cloud backup and device-to-device transfer.

Sharing features you control

Two features move information off the device, and both require you to act:

• Reminders. When you choose to send a reminder, the app opens your own
email or messaging app with the message pre-filled. You review it and send it yourself. The app never sends anything on its own. DoD ID numbers are never included in reminder messages.
• Export. When you export a CSV file, you choose where it goes — saving it,
emailing it, or sending it to another leader. Once a file leaves the app, its handling is up to you.

Payments

The app is free. It includes an optional tip jar. Payments are handled entirely by Google Play (or the App Store on iOS). The developer never receives your payment details and no purchase information is stored in the app.

Deleting your information

Delete individual soldiers or records inside the app, or uninstall the app to remove all of its data from your device. Because nothing is stored elsewhere, there is no separate deletion request process and no data for the developer to delete.

Children

The app is intended for adult military leaders and is not directed at children under 13. It collects no information from anyone, including children.

Your responsibility for the information you enter

You are responsible for the information you enter about other people, including following your unit's and your service's rules on handling personally identifiable information. Do not enter classified information. This app is not an official system of record.

Not a government application

This app is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a product of the U.S. Army, the Department of Defense, or any government agency.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
